PLAYING THE WAITING GAME

Sixty seconds spent waiting
More time will elapse wishing
Whilst willing and expecting
That one thing which is pending.

Thinly our patience is growing
How long are we kept hanging
When time is hourly increasing
Aging in our years whilst waiting.

Our world is watching and waiting
Waiting for what may be happening
We're all waiting for that something
With each season that is changing

With a purpose and meaning
Theres a reason we're waiting
To face what we're repressing
Our waiting could be a blessing.

Everything around us is moving
The nights turning into morning
Someone will always be waiting
For waiting in life is never ending.



TESTING OUR PATIENCE

"Patience feels a daily battle
Somedays we're good at patience
Sometimes it requires practice
Patience is the game we choose

They often say patience is a virtue
A virtue we must at times require
Wait a little for all that is to come
Its considered a trait of excellence

Not everything is how we'd hope
Life takes a test of your patience
Somethings we can't foresee
Patience teaches us self disapline

Step into your day with patience
Give time, for all things we desire
Patience isn't considered a crime
There's a reason things take time."

REUNITED WITH THE FATHER

I was sat in my lounge this morning and I suddenly started thinking about being 'reunited with the Father.' Not so much our earthly fathers but that of our Heavenly Father. It also got me thinking about moments in the bible scriptures where we read about children and their fathers being reunited. The first that came to mind was Joseph and his Father, son of Jacob, known for his coat of many colours and his rise to power in Egypt (Genesis 46:28-34). Jacob believed that his son was dead, yet Joseph, who had become a high official in Egypt, reveals his identity to his brothers who had come seeking food during a famine. Jacob is overjoyed to learn that his son is alive and in a position of power. The reunion takes place in the land of Goshen, where Jacob's family settles. As I started thinking and reading about this account of being reunited with the Father another biblical story came to mind. SHE HAS DONE IT

For some athletes 202.2 miles in a year might not seem a big deal. But for me it is a great achievement, especially when 54 years ago being told you would never walk. On Sunday depite foot pain and tiredness I pressed on and reached my goal 100 walks in 12 months. Those who really know me, know that when I put my mind to something there's no stopping me. On my birthday in 2024 I set myself a goal to walk 53 walks in my 53 years of life, complete it by 9th December 2025. By June I had completed 53 walks. I was then challenged to raise the bar and get to 100 by 31st December. At 3pm on 28th December I had finished walk 101. In my head I thought it was walk 98/99. I had walked 2 more than i thought.I have been using my Strava app to keep me on track, this was a personal challenge and not for a charity fundraiser.  If only those doubtful medics could see me now. ROBERT BURNS

  This Sunday evening across Scotland and native Scottish lands, There will be a fair few Burns night celebrations. It is the Scottish tradition known as Burns night. A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, the author of many Scots poems. The suppers are usually held on or near the poet's birthday, 25 January, known as Burns Night also called Robert Burns Day or Rabbie Burns Day. With haggis the main feast food eaten.   I think I only ever tried haggis once, I'm not scotish or have as far as I know  no Scottish anstestry.  Heres what I learnt about  it; Haggis is a traditional Scottish savoury pudding made from sheep’s offal (heart, liver, lungs), minced with oats, onions, suet, and spices, traditionally cooked in a sheep's stomach. It has a crumbly texture and nutty, peppery flavor. It is famously served with "neeps and tatties" (mashed swede and potatoes) on Burns Night. Um yes I can understand why not now. ...
