WAITING IN THE HALLWAY (Devotional)

WAITING IN THE HALLWAY: Devotion by Sarah Joy Holden

READING:

Revelation 3:8
"I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut".

REFLECTION:

Waiting in a hallway can be a period of anticipation or transition. It can be a time to reflect, observe, or prepare for what comes next. The hallway itself can symbolize a transitional space, a place to navigate before entering a new room or phase of life.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with waiting in the hallway, especially as you've tried every key in every door. In the hallway you'll always find a resting point,  quiet often chair. It is here, rest, wait, prepare ourselves.

The right door will open at the right time or perhaps it can never be opened. You may knock on the door but never force it. For the door to open requires human patience and all things happen for a reason. Until God opens the right doors let's praise him in our hallways.

So let be patient as we wait in our hallways and always keep believing with an open heart. Be thankful when those door open or close. The right key, the right door, the right lock will open when we least expect it. 'Seek the Lord and ask him to sit with you in the waiting. Never be despondent if a door doesn't unlock or open with ease. 'God is our master key.'

CHALLENGE:

This week try and count all the doors you physically encounter (where they lead us).Think about what was or is it's purpose. Did I hold the door open for others, Did I say thank you if a door is open for us?  And have we danced in our hallways.

PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, Please help me to find rest in the hallway, give me patience as I seek your will in my life. Teach me to rest in your presence day by day.

Amen
