THE MYSTERY OF SOMEWHERE

She is going somewhere, but where did she say? She's off to some place, going out for the day. But where—where has she gone? She did tell me. If I did not know, she wouldn't have said where. Was it somewhere near or far away? And now she's gone to that place—the exact place she mentioned to me. While I sit here reminiscing, trying to jog my memory.

She's gone off somewhere. I hope she has a lovely day, wherever that might be. I might go there someday—who knows when that will be? I'll travel to that place she visited today, if it appeals to me. A place with joy and pleasure, somewhere just to get away. I'll know if she enjoyed it by the returning smile on her face. I'll know if she didn't enjoy it by the frown on her face.

Wherever she's gone, I'm still right here. The exact spot where we said hello, nice day. She's gone off somewhere, and I've not moved from here. I've spent wasted time pondering, staring into space, about where she said she was going. So, I'll ask when she returns home: 'Remind me — where have you been today?' And then I'll see if I remember tomorrow where she's been today, when tomorrow becomes our yesterday.

You see, we're all going somewhere far beyond our yesterday; but only where the world's winds take us, bring us, leave us. That's one of life's big mysteries of the adventures unknown. Somewhere, anywhere, nowhere, or everywhere—it's ours to discover and reveal.

Yet I am still intrigued to remember whereabouts she has gone, and why she has not yet returned. Is she returning or has she gone somewhere forever?....
