NHS APPRECIATION

People call out Shropshire & Telford NSH and give it a bad name. Yes Shrewsbury has its faults like many NHS hospitals and services. Its a countrywide issue let down by previous governments.  Yes it only a stetched system that is broken. Broken by the previous government which the current government is trying too mend. Please give them a chance.

Over the last 10 months the care and professionalism of its staff during my treatment has been phenomenal. At all the three main hospitals across Shropshire. Even if they do like sending lots and lots paper in envelopes. I am seeing first hand the sheer exhaustion on their faces, but when they are one to one with patient they give 100% dedication with a smile on their faces. 


Yes they might make errors, but we have appreciate the pressure our NHS is under. I'm not making excuses for the nursing staff and consultants. I have seen the pain family and friends have gone through when mistakes have been made. But we're all human and we all make mistakes. 

Take today for example, I had an issue with something related to my treatment. I rang the chemo emergency line at half eleven. After a phew phone call the matter was delt with by four pm. The care I received was polite, professional, and prompt.  

It is so easy for us to find the negativity in everything first. But if we all just took a little more time to understand the whats, the whys and the how's. Maybe we would be a little more kinder and caring to our fellow human beings. 

Remember behind ever health care professional weather NHS workers, Private heath care professionals there's a personal story we know nothing about. 

I now have a greater respect for our NHS seeing it from both sides. As a hospital volunteer and as I hospital in patient and out patient. Thank you to our NHS and let's remember it the system at fault not the individual Health care professionals. Treat them with the kindness and respect you would want to be treated with.

I was sat in my lounge this morning and I suddenly started thinking about being 'reunited with the Father.' Not so much our earthly fathers but that of our Heavenly Father. It also got me thinking about moments in the bible scriptures where we read about children and their fathers being reunited. The first that came to mind was Joseph and his Father, son of Jacob, known for his coat of many colours and his rise to power in Egypt (Genesis 46:28-34). Jacob believed that his son was dead, yet Joseph, who had become a high official in Egypt, reveals his identity to his brothers who had come seeking food during a famine. Jacob is overjoyed to learn that his son is alive and in a position of power. The reunion takes place in the land of Goshen, where Jacob's family settles. SHE HAS DONE IT

For some athletes 202.2 miles in a year might not seem a big deal. But for me it is a great achievement, especially when 54 years ago being told you would never walk. On Sunday depite foot pain and tiredness I pressed on and reached my goal 100 walks in 12 months. Those who really know me, know that when I put my mind to something there's no stopping me. On my birthday in 2024 I set myself a goal to walk 53 walks in my 53 years of life, complete it by 9th December 2025. By June I had completed 53 walks. I was then challenged to raise the bar and get to 100 by 31st December. At 3pm on 28th December I had finished walk 101. In my head I thought it was walk 98/99. I had walked 2 more than i thought.I have been using my Strava app to keep me on track, this was a personal challenge and not for a charity fundraiser.  If only those doubtful medics could see me now. ROBERT BURNS

  This Sunday evening across Scotland and native Scottish lands, There will be a fair few Burns night celebrations. It is the Scottish tradition known as Burns night. A Burns supper is a celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, the author of many Scots poems. The suppers are usually held on or near the poet's birthday, 25 January, known as Burns Night also called Robert Burns Day or Rabbie Burns Day. With haggis the main feast food eaten.   I think I only ever tried haggis once, I'm not scotish or have as far as I know  no Scottish anstestry.  Heres what I learnt about  it; Haggis is a traditional Scottish savoury pudding made from sheep’s offal (heart, liver, lungs), minced with oats, onions, suet, and spices, traditionally cooked in a sheep's stomach.
