ALIVE AND KICKING

Image
I am not sure how long a poem should be, long enough to keep the reader interested. Unfortunately for this one I got carried away. So it could only in my opinion be a blog post as well as a spoken word piece on my new favourite app suno.  This week I was accused of being a fake writer, using AI and claiming the work as my own, this is categorically untrue (some of you may have seen my Facebook post ). So I guess this genuine poem by myself is in response to that. It hurt at the time, but with the support of my fellow writers who came to my aid; it hasn't stopped me from writing. After all I am 'A prolific writer' even if I don't always write it write.' https://sarahjholden.blogspot.com/2025/11/fake-writer-update.html I don't mind if you lose interest half way through, it is why I have shared the recording and the printed version. I am aware some of my readers are visually impaired, and it helps them and myself hear it spoken aloud. I believe it maybe the long...

WE WRITERS WILL WRITE

Image
WHY WE WRITERS WRITE We write so to remember We write so to inspire We write so to hear We write so to encourage. We write so to see We write so to bless We write so to praise We write so to express. We write so to know We write so to share We write so to grow We write so to persuade. We write so to equip We write so to engage We write so to recap We write so to communicate. We write so to teach We write so to learn We write so to reach We write so to complain. We write so to inform We write so to testify We write so to proclaim We write so to reveal God's glory.... ©️Sarah Joy Holden https://suno.com/s/5tiPNJoMhGfgYgPU THESE WORDS WE WRITE These are poetry songs There short and long Hear our written words As we'd like them sung We often write for all others We write privately for ourselves Writing helps clear our minds It helps process our thoughts Writing not for fame Not writing to make a fortune But for our own pleasure With or without rhyme...

WOULD THEY GET HOME

Image
The story you are about to hear is true, and is based on the actual events that took place at time. However the characters names and locations have been changed, in order to protect their identities. It’s a dark Autumn November night, Melanie had just finished her long day shift at the local hospital. The pain in her feet was excruciating and she was extremely tired, all she wanted was to get home. On nights like these was when she wished she could drive. She loved her job at the hospital; but nothing would stop her quitting her role, unless the unforeseen was to happen. Melanie waited at the bus stop for the bus to come. Whilst she was waiting a gentlemen unfamiliar with the area arrived and asked if there was a bus due into town. 'Yes' Melanie replied, "it should be here in ten minutes." He was the type of gentlemen that was very chatty, she wished he would be quiet, she had gotto that frustrating tired stage. The man spoke of how where he lives in London there ...

JACOB'S SONG

Image
So, another poem became a song overnight; now a total of six poetry songs by this creative heart. Jacob's Ladder was a poem that wrote for another poetry challenge on the  KSW group. I've known the kids' song all my life, but reading the story yesterday surprised me to the little I knew about Jake. I always thought i was a physical ladder we were asked to climb, I hadn't realised it was a dream, Jake had that he lay his head on a stone to sleep. Isn't it funny what we teach and got taught in Sunday School often snippets of the good stuff. Life is definitely a new classroom of learning every new day. Full story can be found in Genesis 28:10 -17. It is amazing how God connects His word to our gifts of creativity and in our own understanding and development. A little bible nugget transforms itself into creative writing genres, art and expressive art such drama, music and dance. The critics can make it harder and harder for us to reach our creative full potential often ...
