DEVOTIONAL
THE HALLWAY: by Sarah Joy Holden
READING:
Revelation 3:8
"I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut".
THOUGHT:
There is absolutely nothing wrong with waiting in the hallway, after you've tried every key in every door. In the hallway you'll always find a chair. Chairs are for sitting on, a hall way chair sits without a desk, it a waiting chair and it's for you to sit there to, rest, wait, pray. The door will open when it feels its the right time. You may knock on the door but never force it. For the door to open requires human patience and all things happen for a reason. So just enjoy waiting in the hallway and never quit waiting, always keep believing. The right key, the right door, the right lock will open when we least expect it.
'Seek the Lord and ask him to sit with you in the waiting.'
CHALLENGE:
This week try and count all the doors you physically encounter: Think about what was its purpose? did I hold the door open for others? Did i say thank you if a door is open for us? where did each door lead? What state was it in?
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, Please help me to find rest in the hallway, give me patience as I seek your will in my life. Teach me to rest in your presence each day.
Amen
